Time's lullaby.

The wind was full of birds flying across the sky.

From the corner of the room by the window, she watched them pass by.

To the times left behind, the trees were waving goodbye.

She struggled to get her grip of today's time; but in every instant, faster it flew by.

Something inside kept saying, you'll catch up. One day you'll be walking ahead of it, just try.

An ode to the dreams of soaring high.

  1. The interesting thing about getting older (if anything) is the perspective of the passage of time. I've heard it said that the more sand that's out of the hourglass, the more clearly you see through it. It's true in my case. Time passes more quickly and I think that I'm more comfortable with that now than when I was young and had something to prove. Being older, there is nothing to prove.

I still work at consulting from my home at the White Wolf Mine in the Arizona Highlands (USA). The presence of bandwidth allows one to live remotely and still remain connected. Things that I order on Amazon arrive - and it still amazes me, when you consider that I live in one of the more remote locations in the Lower 48 States. The time that it takes between a mouse click and the arrival of goods speaks to the modern era, even if the nearest store or gas station is over an hour's drive away.

  2. There were times I felt I was behind those around me. It is an illusion. We move at our own pace.

  4. Beautiful, and beautifully illustrated. I am not sure I will ever catch up though.

  5. It might seem its all passing by, but that's only relativity... we just might be at a different pace...
Besides, sometimes it makes sense to take a pause, to let things go by..
    Even the lonliness shall pass...
