If cigarettes could cure sadness.

If cigarettes could cure sadness,
and the world could sing a lullaby.

If monsters could be unreal,
and angels could fly.

If Pandora hadn't opened the box of troubles,
and in people we could rely.

If the sun wouldn't set each night,
and people didn't say goodbyes.

If, if only this could be fixed,
and this wasn't a lie.

  4. Goodbyes are very hard... I know this well...but sometimes we need to say goodbye to say a new hello to the right person.... I'm learning that daily xox ♡

  5. You could say the same thing of single malt scotch and porterhouse steaks, yachts and Lambos. But 'things' don't change anything.

    1. Ghandi made a difference by losing himself in the service of others. The more that you do for others (and I'm writing of doing things effectively), the more abundant and meaningful your life will be. It's a cause and effect that can be proven and demonstrated. It's not things that make us happy (though as you know, I like things too), but the joy that we bring to others.

    2. You're right LL.

But in the middle of the service for others, if we lose ourselves, its not really a great place to be in.

    3. Life is all about finding and maintaining balance and a "center". I of all people am not about to suggest that it's simple. You also have to be comfortable about who YOU are. Discovering all of those things is at the very essence of our common struggle of life. In other words, we're all in the same boat.

Children teach you a great deal about yourself because you can witness parts of you on a journey not all that different than the one you began. You weep for their struggle, but it is that very struggle that defines us in the way that lifting weights repeatedly defines a muscle.

  9. Ain't that the truth!
I fancy your line "If the sun didn't set each night, and people didn't say goodbyes".
As a night person, I get depressed and anxious at night, because I feel I hadn't completed enough. Maybe missed the sun time I had to go outside and hoop or walk on my hands...
Maybe if goodbyes didn't always have something negative to them.
